UMW is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ and t, to develop a creative, supportive friendshbip and to expand concepts of mission through participation in global ministries.

We have the opportunity to participate in three mission studies each year held at different United Methodist Churches.  This year they will be held at Capitol Heights UMC on Feb. 9; at Lowest Bluff UMC on Mar 8, which will be taught by one of our own members, Ms. Bev Snyder.

Our other projects/missions are to collect used postage stamps, souplabels, box tops for Education, pink Yoplait lids and flip tops from soda cans.  Support Adulum House and Nellie Burge center.  Provide Upper Room devotional booklets to 2 nursing homes. Prepare and distribute fruit baskets at Thanksgiving for Meals on Wheels participants and elderly and grieving church members.  Prove Yester Year luncheon for senior citizens in our church and community.  Provide Bibles to new members who need them and members of the Confirmation Class each year.  Contribute $100 for Christmas gifts to Cottage 63 at Selma Children's Home.

Upcoming Events:

February is Prayer and Self Denial Month.  Each day we pick a slip out of a bag with names to pray for or missions to pray for. We are encouraged to put change into a jar each day which will be given to the treasury.  There will also be a surprise "Come as You Are" party sometime during the month.

Sunday, March 13, UMW Day all three church services. UMW ladies will greet, usher, read scripture, pray and sing in the choir. We will have a guest speaker.

Each month one circle will prepare Wednesday Night Supper to raise funds for our projects.
